Existing foundation with a customized Heligrid

For this project, the client wanted to upgrade an existing helideck foundation with a new harpoon-compatible landing grid, without changing the overall deck structure. The solution was a custom HeliGrid with reduced height, engineered to fit precisely within the available build-up while still meeting the functional and safety requirements of the harpoon system.

By re-using the existing foundation, Cramm HLS limited structural modifications and downtime on board, while the tailored grid geometry ensured a seamless connection between foundation and HeliGrid. All anchoring points, drainage and interfaces were adapted to the original deck design, so the finished landing area looks integrated rather than “added on”.

This project highlights how HeliGrid can be customized to existing ships, platforms, and buildings; not only in diameter and layout, but also in height, foundation interface and detailing. It shows our ability to deliver a turnkey landing solution that respects the limitations of an existing structure, while still providing the safe, low-maintenance operating HeliGrid is known for.
